All compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) are self-ballasted — no separate ballast needed. Just screw them into a CFL lead and plug into the wall. Recommended for growers who want to add extra light to their grow room by hanging CFLs vertically between plants — useful for lower-canopy under-lighting or for adding supplemental veg-spectrum light to flowering-spectrum HPS setups. Standard E40 socket fits all common CFL grow lamps.

Specifically for self-ballasted CFL lamps — not for HID, CMH, or LED fixtures. For growing rooms doing serious flowering, CFL is undersized — HPS, CMH, or LED produce far more usable light per watt. Lead only — CFL lamp sold separately. For multiple CFLs in a single fixture, CFL reflectors with multi-socket housings are more efficient than multiple individual leads.
