IWS Punched Copper Disc — Root Barrier & Pot Base

The IWS copper disc — place in the base of inner pots before adding growing medium to stop unruly roots and loose media escaping into your flood & drain system. Copper has natural anti-fungal properties and actively deters roots from growing through it. Effective all the way through your grow cycle, only replace when starting a fresh crop.

Why growers use copper discs:

• Stops roots escaping the inner pot — prevents the main IWS system from becoming tangled with root mass
• Contains potting mix — keeps medium inside the inner pot where it belongs
• Natural anti-fungal properties — copper inhibits common root-zone pathogens
• Deters root growth through the disc — roots sense the copper and stay within the pot
• Effective all through a grow cycle — one disc per crop, no mid-grow replacement needed

Who it's not for:

Specifically designed for IWS systems — works with other flood & drain setups but fit may not be exact. Check discs periodically through the grow for signs of wear or heavy root buildup; if roots are escaping around the edges, reposition or replace. Only replace at the end of each grow cycle — don't mid-grow swap.
