Who it's not for:

For 4+ airstone setups, a proper manifold (4-way, 6-way, 8-way) is more practical and gives individual flow control per outlet. Y-pieces have no taps; you can't shut off one side while leaving the other running. Check your air pump can supply 2 airstones adequately — undersized pumps leave both outputs starved of air. For permanent installations, threaded fittings are more secure than push-fit.
